Upgrades for all MTP assemblies
Simplified release, optimised reaction to fire
February 13, 2026
Datwyler is now offering all MTP assemblies with push-pull connectors instead of rods. These can be released by simply pulling on the bend protection sleeve.
This upgrade concerns all preassembled trunk, fanout, breakout and patch cables with MTP connectors. The advantage of the push-pull connector is especially clear in high density applications such as Datwyler’s HD-DCS solution, where a lot of release rods in the smallest space sometimes make it difficult to connect and disconnect.
Furthermore Datwyler now only uses Euroclass B2ca cables for the assembly of DCS trunk cables with MTP connectors (and for some MTP breakout cables).
Although trunk cables do not actually require classification to EN 13501-6, for fire prevention reasons, data center operators are placing increasing importance on cable products that have been tested to ensure they meet the most stringent reaction to fire requirements. And so Datwyler IT Infra’s offer is responding to the current market demand.
